The transitional Sober Living unit offers a so-called halfway house. At this facility the clients would receive transitional housing plus aftercare services. In short, they would be housed in an apartment with full time staff and have access to the same benefits as the clients of the regular Sober Living facility. Substance abuse treatment is not mandatory at the transitional living facilities. The clients could however sign up for a couple of weeks of aftercare treatment at a nearby transitional facility. Substance abuse treatment could include detoxification, group therapy, individual or couple counseling, social services, spiritual support, or a combination of all these services.
